Systems of housing supply are made up of several facets. The previous chapter has introduced these in terms of housing production, land and planning policies, as well as aspects of the development process: land supply, infrastructure provision and the building process. A main aim of the research, incorporated within the hypothesis is to investigate the nature of the different systems and the way they are structured. Chapter 3 begins this process, by comparing the different elements of supply in six sections (3.2-3.7). The outcome of this process is given in Section 3.8, which attempts to summarise the extent to which there is state and market sector involvement in the systems of supply.
