ABSTRACT
Perhaps one of the most interesting war development of the V.T.O. was the theatrical “brigades” it organised. These brigades were a universal feature of the Soviet theatres, and provided a further link between East and West. This impinging of the two was not itself a war development ; it had been going on for years, Kipling or no. But war put it in arms against a common threat ; and comrades in arms arc the closest and most enduring comrades. Because of international Fascism, Europe and Asia fused ; and that fusion has an importance for us all, if we have only the wit and honesty to see it.
