ABSTRACT

Chapter 10 presents the quantitative portion of the study. It explains the reasons why this study operates as an exploratory study offering a line of inquiry to follow upon more available data. The chapter presents the quantitative data for the policies on defense counsel, the demographic data, and the racially/ethnically disparate contact with the juvenile justice system. It depicts the quantitative trends in the relationships among these variables and the statistical significance, or lack thereof, among the relationships. The chapter offers a framework for further study, recognizing the limitations of the current study in producing strong generalizable quantitative knowledge.
