ABSTRACT

In order to determine how choices are made, discrete choice theory sets out an empirical method allowing for probability likelihoods to be determined. Here we build on the method explained in the logistic regression chapter using the logit regression. Examples of models with choice preferences and demographic characteristics will be explored using odds ratio probability likelihoods. Research examples around stated preference and revealed preference data, including some of my own research into parental school choice will be explored in the chapter.
