The academic history of Chinese dramas in a modern sense has gone through a hundred years of development if calculated since the time of Wang Guowei. In a century, generations of scholars have conducted abundant research on the long-standing Chinese opera and attained great achievement. Compared to the ancient drama, the modern Chinese drama, though with a closer relation to the current condition and more complete materials, has fewer historical research and theoretical summaries in the academic circle. This topic is therefore proposed in view of this situation.
