The manuscript belongs to the Huntington Library Collection, 36040. It consists of four pages, numbered 11–14 in De Quincey’s hand. The manuscript was mounted and bound by WMK Bixby, St Louis. There are no discernible watermarks. Affinities with material published in Tait’s in 1838 make composition in that year very likely.[t]
