ABSTRACT
Unity Environmental helps its New York City clients achieve their waste reduction goals. Its affiliate company, V. Ponte and Sons, Inc., has been in the recycling business since it was founded in 1919, paying local businesses and office buildings for their waste paper. Through vision, hard work, and self-motivation, the four Ponte brothers grew and diversified the company. One of the largest waste haulers in the Northeast, the firm owns a paper recycling facility. Its paper mill in Clifton, NJ, manufactures paperboard from recycled stock. This paperboard takes the form of tubing, partition stock, and boards and game boxes for Milton Bradley, and cereal, shoe, and gift boxes for other major companies.
