ABSTRACT
Arctic climates can be divided into two types: (a) Tundra climates with a summer, however, short, above freezing. During this time the ground is free from snow for a sufficient period to permit the growth of typical tundra vegetation, (b) Polar or perpetual frost climates. In these, the growth of vegetation is impossible.
