ABSTRACT
The various environments described in previous chapters can be classified according to their climates or by topographical features. Indeed, as Haviland (1926) has suggested, the topography of the country and the variations of the climate represent the same part in the make-up of the environment, figuratively speaking, as morphology and physiology play in the life of the organism.
