ABSTRACT

The great acting teacher, Michael Chekhov, recognized that there are certain guiding principles that govern our movement and our acting – in fact, these traits are present in all great works of art. These elements aren’t just labels imposed by Chekhov – rules to be obeyed. Instead, when we allow them to, these principles – which Chekhov dubbed The Four Brothers (KW) – simply emerge as we make our creative choices.1
