ABSTRACT
The previous chapters have examined different aspects of the thesis that in studying Hobbes’ Leviathan and attempting to make sense of the work as a whole, the study of Hobbes’ rhetoric and the study of his philosophy coincide. Rather than restate the arguments advanced in each of the chapters, this conclusion summarises the themes that have been developed in the course of the argument in support of the thesis.
