Given the general picture of the development of factions in Guangzhou drawn in Chapter Three, just which students became members and leaders of the Rebels and of the Conservatives of the Flag and General (East Wind) factions? What links were there between class origin, factional alignment, participation in the GPCR, school quality, YCL membership and leadership position?
