ABSTRACT
While I was completing work on this manuscript, a patient brought to her analysis the following dream. She prefaced her telling of the dream by saying that she had intended not to tell me about it—not because of any desire to conceal from me its contents, but because the dream itself had been so upsetting that she did not want to repeat the experience by remembering it.
