ABSTRACT

When a social scientist collects field data on any topic, he or she usually makes some ‘case studies’ which are basically small bio-notes. While pursuing Kaaroor, I have treated his short stories as case studies and brought them under different heads like children, women, school teachers, marital episodes, and sinking Nayar families, and probed into sociological aspects seen in them. This in short is ‘sociology through literature’ for this study.
