ABSTRACT

Kaaroor’s ‘zoo’ has ‘Kaali the Dog,’ a touching tale of a boy and his pet, and his parents who lose both their son and the dog. An array of other animals from the tiger down to monkey, donkey, camel, fox, and eagle appears in ‘Make Me Your King,’ a political allegory, penned in the tradition of Panchatantra of Vishnu Sharma (c. 3rd cent BC).
