ABSTRACT
As I pointed out at the very beginning of this book, even though virtually all business leaders say that people are their most important asset, few have created sound human capital strategies to attract, retain, and motivate the talent they need. Even among those with a battle plan to win the competition for talent, most don’t have concrete metrics to track the progress of the campaign. Among the very few that have a strategy and metrics to measure progress, only a handful actually hold managers accountable for their performance on the human capital front.
