ABSTRACT
An alarming subset of the U.S. voting population seems willing to believe, even embrace, and many times embellish what are completely unsubstantiated conspiracy theories and false news memes. This chapter explores the epidemic of what is euphemistically called “fake news,” specifically deliberately false information that is presented as journalism, how to identify it, and how to combat it.
