ABSTRACT
Throughout this section of our study, I have been concerned with the relationship between Judaism and the Jewish people and non-Jewish “languages”; I have been asking what is inside and what is outside for educated Jews. I have also fire-quently noted that contemporary Jews speak several languages fluently and, largely, as insiders, so that all talk of “Jewish insider language” constantly skirts a thin line between self-understanding and preaching.
