ABSTRACT
The oil shocks examined in detail in the last two chapters were primarily responsible for raising the European consciousness about energy. The oil price rises pulled other fuel prices up and long-run conservation and supply responses resulted. This chapter concentrates on the Community’s demand response and conservation effort.
