Self-care’s about doing all of the self-work. It’s about how are we nurturing ourselves and letting ourselves grow all the time. One of the wonderful things about the early childhood field is that we’re in this mindset of nurturing growth across all these different domains and seeing the child as a whole person. This practice puts us as caregivers in a great position to also sethink about ourselves as whole people, and ask, “Well, how do we grow ourselves creatively, spiritually, physically, as well?”… . It’s finding ways to deal with stress in the moment where you’re not taking it into your body… . It’s a lifelong process.
