What is Women’s Studies?

The nature of women's studies is still unresolved, although some fifteen years have passed since the first college course about women was offered. Debate even continues over the name for the field. Should it be called "women's studies," "feminist studies," or "gender studies?" The first alternative is most widely used at this writing and is employed throughout this book.
