ABSTRACT
The ethnography of Part Two indicates that computing in Sheffield was associated with rather profound changes in social life but that the patterns of computing were quite diverse, suggesting substantial interdeterminancy. Clearly one of the most important (and unanticipated) divergences was that between computing in private and state institutions.
