ABSTRACT

The Pécsely basin is surrounded by a formation of gentle hills, shaped like an amphitheatre, which open towards Lake Balaton. The hillside is divided into sections, known by ancient, poetic-sounding names. The vines owned by Pécsely residents are located on the lower middle half of the belt of hills. The vineyards on the top half are owned by villagers of the surrounding villages of Vászoly, Barnag and Tothvászony, which otherwise do not have good vinegrowing territories.
