ABSTRACT
John F. Kennedy promised to start the country moving again and the nation applauded his enthusiasm. But in the process of moving forward, Americans abandoned the pursuit of limited goals capable of fulfillment for unlimited objectives impossible to achieve. Thus, the historic American commitment to the ideal of liberty and service to the world was discovered to possess a malevolent side.
