ABSTRACT
Dispute boards are all created by contract and accordingly the basis for the decisions made by any dispute board is grounded in the law of the country in which the contract is executed (or the country agreed on by the parties) and which ultimately governs its execution. This chapter covers and gives an overview of the various main forms of law worldwide dealing with dispute boards including Common Law, Civil Law, and Sharia Law.
