ABSTRACT

The demands on the skills of the labour force are likely to continue increasing. Higher levels of training and education will be needed for the increase in higher level jobs. New skills will be needed to take advantage of developments in new technologies and new materials. And as organisations strive to become moreflexible and responsive so as to compete effectively, individuals will need a wider range of skills to increase their own flexibility.
