The author of this article participated in the consultation work for the research report Medium and Long Term Development and Transformation of the Chinese Economy: an International Perspective and wrote this article to interpret and review the report content from the perspective of academic research. Compared with the “Bashan cruise ship conference” held in 1985, this report puts forward recommendations towards the medium- and long-term development and transformation of the Chinese economy, based on the new background and situation. The report offers a substantive definition about the connotation of the development model transformation and puts forward recommendations for problems and countermeasures that might take place during the transformation. However, this report was drafted and finalized by foreign experts, and there might be some differences or deviations with regard to the knowledge and understanding of certain Chinese economic problems, which is also the problem the author of this article hopes to further discuss here.
