How Vocabulary Is Learned From Extensive Reading

Vocabulary learning is only one of the goals of extensive reading, but vocabulary learning makes use of conditions that also apply to other aspects of language knowledge. Vocabulary learning from extensive reading occurs as a result of repeated meetings with words, word families, and lexical phrases in context, and as a result of the quality of these meetings.
