ABSTRACT
If one considers how a term like ‘tall’ is ordinarily employed in the
English language then it is clear that its meaning is ambiguous. Quite
simply, its meaning varies relative to the context in which it is
employed. For example, compared to other buildings in the United
Kingdom, the Canada Tower at Canary Wharf, in London, is tall. But if
you ask whether it is tall compared to the Empire State Building in
Manhattan, you will get the answer that it is not.
