ABSTRACT
Millian arguments have dominated debates on free speech and censorship. The major justifications of free speech found in English and American jurisprudence, including the democracy and truth justifications, are eloquently advanced in Mill’s writing and have been used by defenders of pornography. The harm principle has been at the forefront of the debate.
