ABSTRACT

Technique Change your seat height (usually the drummer is sitting too low, causing the arms to constantly be reaching up when playing). If pain is caused when marching, a properly fitting harness is important. Drink plenty of water to flush out the muscles. While playing, change positions and rest ten minutes each hour, and don’t play one day a week to let the body rejuvenate. If marching, wear harness only when necessary. Proper lifting techniques will also help prevent this injury (see Section A.3).
