Hooked on exercise: Personality and motivation in primary and secondary exercise dependence

Comprehensive research work on exercise dependent people has taken place in at least three centres widely dispersed across the globe. One group, based at the University of Florida in the US, involved Hausenblas, Symons Downs and colleagues; a second, based at Birmingham University in England, involved Cockerill, Bamber and colleagues; and a third, at The University of Hong Kong, involved Blaydon, Lindner and Kerr. These three groups have produced a number of scientific publications over the last ten years.
