ABSTRACT
Nineteen-forty-fi ve will always remain the year that World War II ended. It will also be remembered as the period when there was still hope that the victorious Allies would continue their cooperation, and pursue the peace goals that had been enunciated in the wartime conferences. A paramount agreement was the promise to prosecute the leaders and organizations proven responsible for the war in accordance with international law.
