ABSTRACT
The purpose of this list is to reinforce the importance of some essential rock recordings, as well as to compensate somewhat for the absence, neglect, or short-shrift that some important recording artists may have received in the main text because of narrative strategy, space limitation, forgetfulness, or any other rationalization one could give for their omission.
