ABSTRACT
Much has been written about the epidemiology and course of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Some reports in the media have accused mental health professionals of overdiagnosing ADHD. In addition, confusion remains over the disorder’s course-some report lifelong impairment, whereas others seem to mostly “grow out” of symptoms by late adolescence. It is important for mental health professionals to examine these issues to form accurate expectations.
