The first gunshot interrupted a calm Monday morning. Across the street a young man was holding a gun with two hands, white smoke erupting from the barrel. Immediately, I hit the pavement as he fired another round in our direction. Clack! Clack! I put my head down and prayed that no one would be killed. Clack! Clack! Clack! Clack! The last shot echoed for a moment before fading into an unusual silence on the busy street.
