ABSTRACT

T HIS chapter offers a feminist view on organizational communication. It is of necessity selective. The notions of context and form in com-munication provide recurring sense-making themes. As the frameworks presented below developed, I came across examples from my immediate academic experience. I have used some of these as illustrations. What I have to say is as relevant to communication in academic institutions as in other organizations, and has profound implications for women and men involved in the construction of knowledge.
