ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we want to discuss the scope and nature of peace education. What we hope to do is to suggest that, while peace education embraces many approaches from many academic backgrounds (and sometimes from none) and operates in many different contexts, this does not mean that peace education is an amorphous blob without shape or structure. Rather, we want to introduce a classi cation that we hope will assist other scholars who wrestle with the question “what is peace education?”
