ABSTRACT
In Latin America neocolonialism is the state by uhich the region remains to a large extent economically dependent on the industrialised uorld after almost tuo centuries of political independence. Whether this is the consequence of structural requirements of the advanced countries to maintain their status quo is a matter of judgement.
