ABSTRACT
It is frustrating to try to write, one’s phrases wrapped in a cocoon of ambiguity, about something which everybody knows, which no one dares openly to acknowledge, which can rarely be proved and which may lead to serious trouble if one is in the least incautious. Perhaps that is why studies of contemporary corruption are rare.
