ABSTRACT

In one short paragraph the author, starting from zero, has managed to arrive at the conclusion that Khayyam mayhave been an Isma'ili missionary!

Even if it could be proved that the two did meet, are we to suppose that a trained scholar and philosopher like Khayyam, distinguished for his even temperament and his dislike of extremism, should have been so suggestible as to fall under the spell ofan ambitious revolutionary like Hasan Sabbah after only one meeting?
