ABSTRACT

In a sphere of network journalism characterized by its permeability and the non-linearity of information fl ows, the control gates for the dissemination of information are wide open. Journalists now compete with a range of voices in the gathering, production and dissemination of news. This chapter will draw upon some cases to outline how the gates are being crashed in various corners of the world and how the dynamics of a network journalism sphere are impacting the reporting of traditional newsrooms.
