THE FOUNDING OF THE MOSCOW ART THEATRE T HE business of producing plays at that time was at very low ebb. First of all, almost no one was interested in the history of costume, no one made collections of ancient clothes,
or books on costumes, or anything of the sort at aU. There were only three styles in vogue in the costumiers' shops: "Faust", "Les Huguenots", and" Moliere", if one does not reckon our national Boyar fashions.
