ABSTRACT
Besides this brother Ariphron, we are told by Plutarch (Per. 36.7) that Perikles also had a sister, whose name is not preserved in any source - a fate typical of Greek women, even prominent ones like Perikles' own wife; the only thing recorded about his sister is that she died in the Great Plague of 429, but whether she was older or younger than Perikles cannot be determined.
