ABSTRACT

Digital cameras are now a standard piece of equipment in many primary classrooms. They have advantages over traditional film cameras in terms of cost and the ease with which the images can be transferred to a computer, manipulated with graphics software and used in a range of documents. Other advantages include the facility to display images on an LCD screen just after they are taken, the capacity to store thousands of images on a single, small memory device and the ability to delete unwanted images to release storage space. Some cameras can record video with sound and perform simple image editing as well.
