ABSTRACT
A spreadsheet program enables text and numbers to be stored, altered and, in some circumstances, displayed as charts or graphs. Spreadsheets are tables of information. They allow the user to manipulate the information in a variety of ways. Spreadsheets are available for all levels of ability and experience. Textease, 2Simple and Black Cat are three suites of programs that contain easy-to-use spreadsheets. However, even the industry standard, Excel, can be changed by teachers to make it easy for infants to use. Spreadsheets are important, content-free software programs that can assist across the curriculum in every subject. Using spreadsheets allows children to handle large amounts of information and use it to see patterns and draw conclusions.
