ABSTRACT

I have presented a model of primordial mind and demonstrated the multiplicity of phenomena that result from its expression in a variety of relationships to thought. As qualitatively different systems of mind the two are related by analogy and not by the linear causality that applies when one is working within a single system, based on the assumption that all mental activity is a subset of symbolic representational thought. This two-system model of mind based on analogical principles and transformations of meaning is nested within a larger multi-system model consisting of genetic endowment, brain, mind, interpersonal relationships, social structure and culture.
