ABSTRACT
Introduction This chapter is about the challenges of assigning blame or responsibility when it comes to activities that threaten environmental rights, ecological justice and nonhuman animal well-being. This is no easy task. Dealing with the perpetrators of transnational environmental crime will always be fraught with controversy and conflict to the extent that fundamental interests clash and questions of justice come to the fore.
