ABSTRACT
The West has criticized U Thant for not having prevented a war won by the Israelis. In spite of the Arab defeat the Russians have not criticized him. Nasser’s Yugoslav and Indian friends upheld the arguments of the President of the United Arab Republic in the corridors of the United Nations, while the representatives of neutral States, those of Canada and Denmark, were striving to defuse the bomb. Must we say, yet once more: beware of your friends?
