ABSTRACT

Following the acceptance of a diplomate in psychoanalysis by ABPP on March 4-5, 1983, Anna Antonovsky proposed a liaison committee to the Board of the Division. This committee consisted of: the chair of the education and training committee (Martin Mayman), the chair of the qualifications committee (Nathan Stockhamer), four members from Section I (Anna Antonovsky, Leopold Caligor, Kenneth S. Issacs, and Donald M. Kaplan), and three appointees by the president (Bertram J. Cohler, Bernard N. Kalinkowitz, and Robert C. Lane), with the President, George D. Goldman, and President-Elect, Ernest S. Lawrence as ex-officio members. The first meeting of the liaison committee was held on October 9, 1983. By this time, adding George Goldman, Ernest Lawrence, and Helen Block Lewis, made a total of 12 members on the committee.
